Pre-Masters Diploma in Social Sciences and Humanities
Students on the Pre-Masters Programme in Social Sciences and Humanities study three modules: English language and study skills and two academic options. Students choose their options from the following list depending on what they wish to study for their masters degree:
- Business Studies
- Economics and Finance
- Maths for Economics and Quantitative Techniques
- Global Politics
- Literature and Art
- Japanese
- Spanish

The modules are chosen after discussion with the department co-ordinator according to the needs of the individual student and the masters programme s/he wishes to progress to. The majority of modules are from final year undergraduate degree courses, and will include lectures and lab sessions.

The Pre-Masters Programme is full-time programme, starting in September and finishing in June. Students who complete the Pre-Masters with sufficient grades can progress to masters degrees at Queen Mary in the following areas:
- International Management
- Marketing
- Finance and Investment
- International Relations
- Global and Comparative Politics

Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for the Pre-Masters Programmes are as follows:
- A full degree or diploma from a recognized institution
- Evidence of English language proficiency: IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 530 (71 IBT) or WELT DCC or TEAP 5.5
Students with lower English language scores may be accepted after successfully completing at least three or more months of general English on our Campus English programme to the equivalent of IELTS 5.5.
Students can make an application even if they are waiting for results.
